RTLB – Transition Project Facilitator

Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour (RTLB)  Cluster 5 

Auckland – West Auckland

Length of Employment: This is a full time (40 hours per week), fixed term position subject to the continuation of the project. The facilitator position starts in Term 1 2022 and will be reviewed in Term 3 2023.

We are seeking a skilled person to facilitate the successful transition of groups of students identified as at risk of disengaging from school during the transition from year 8 to year 9.

  • Are you committed to the empowerment of Maori and Pasifika youth?
  • Do you enjoy contributing to and being part of a supportive team?


  • Level 4 qualification or above in youth work, social work, education, counselling, health, or a related area.
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s licence and own vehicle are required.

Here’s an opportunity that doesn’t come up very often. Are you a creative, hands-on teacher who loves the outdoors and has a passion for making life interesting and fun for all children? Then this might be just what you are looking for!

We need a full-time, New Zealand registered, experienced teacher for our outdoor classroom. The lucky successful applicant will be delivering outdoor education to the whole school in our purpose-built outdoor class and will have the freedom to devise their own plan, including, but not limited to, woodworking, survival skills, tikanga, carving, open-fire cooking, gardening and much more. Appreciation of our free play philosophy essential, Te Reo and Tikanga Māori knowledge an advantage.
