Room 17

Dear Parents and Caregivers of Room 17  children,

Welcome to term 2 2011. 

Homework sheets are handed out on Mondays.  Homework is to be completed over four nights and is due back at school on Friday.  If there is a problem with completing the homework please send me an email or you can write a note in your child's homework book.

Our topic for this term is Science based and places focus on the solar system especially the Sun and Moon and the physical effects of heat and light on planet Earth. A further focus will be developing understanding of how all living things have certain basic requirements in order to stay alive.  To support our topic studies a trip to the Auckland Observatory is planned for Week 10. 

Our Library day is Friday.  Children are able to take out two books and have them for two weeks.

Each morning we do fitness for approximately 20 minutes and on Thursday we have sports.  Please ensure your child is suitably dressed.

School uniform must be worn at all times.  During term one and four Swanson School hats must be worn.  If there are any issues regarding school uniform please let me know. At this time of year children are inclined to get wet and muddy when playing outside.  Please ensure that your child has a spare set of clothing at school.
